Purple Healers, Inc.

In a little under 4 years, not only has Kesha Dan successfully battled a life-changing illness; lupus since 2007 but, also managed to start her own non-profit organization, “Purple Healers, Inc. 4 Lupus”. Kesha had several goals in mind when she decided to embark on the ambition of her own organization. The first being to raise lupus awareness with the production of “Lupie Hug” wraps, her goal was to help fellow lupus patients stay cozy during hospitalizations or casually lounging around their homes. Just as important to Kesha is “giving back”. A portion of all proceeds from the sale of “Lupie Hugs” wraps and now all "Lupie Hugs" products will be donated to numerous lupus organizations geared toward lupus outreach & awareness. Kesha has chosen a few specific lupus organizations because of her personal connections. Kesha is a Lupus Foundation volunteer/representative & a facilitator for the very first support group held in Denver, Colorado. Kesha’s need to give back started at a very young age, during the time she was a teenager Kesha volunteered at The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado & was a peer-counselor while in high school.

Purple Healers was the name of Kesha’s lupus walk team when she participated in her first Walk for Lupus Now walk in Oklahoma City, OK at the zoo in 2007 & Kesha chose that as the name of her organization too. Her “Purple Healers” dream became more than she ever thought that it would be.

Before 2007, Kesha was a full-time college student with the future goal of becoming a Physician’s assistant. The stress & demands of college life were weighing on her health so; Kesha eventually directed her energy into establishing her own organization with a purpose.

Kesha hopes to achieve & maintain her ultimate goal of becoming the voice for some that are unable to be heard, to help with further research and resources in assisting with one day finding the cause and a cure for lupus. Although the cause of lupus is still unknown, Kesha knows a lot more about lupus then she did before she was diagnosed.

Purple Healers, Inc. 4 Lupus is an organization that is determined to make tremendous strides in the future with lupus products, education and events. Purple Healers, Inc. 4 lupus will also be working with many different non-profits and other organizations in the community, to help bring awareness to many unnoticed issues. Purple Healers, Inc 4 lupus supports many other foundations, organizations and non-profits. There will be many upcoming events, seminars and different endeavors in the year of 2011 to look forward to.
